Elias Melake

Founder and CEO

Mr. Melake an Ethiopian born U.S. Citizen, has decades of experience in the Ethiopian business, non-profit, education, and government sectors. Mr. Melake studied Media Network and Computer and Network Maintenance at Phoenix University and Kalamazoo College.   He then managed various retail businesses in the United States, including setting up and managing the Boston Museum of Science’s retail store in Boston’s Children’s Hospital.                                                                         

Mr. Melake returned to Africa in 2001 where he consulted for Oceanic Bank, Lufthansa Technic, the Kühne Foundation (Germany,) Mapei Chemicals (Italy,) Mitrelli (Israel,) Mekelle University (Ethiopia,) Addis Ababa University (Ethiopia,) and Velocity Textile Company.

In partnership with the Kühne Foundation, Mr. Melake introduced the first global standard logistic and supply chain management degree program in Ethiopia at Mekelle University. In July 2019 EMG and Kühne Foundation and have successfully graduated the first bachelor’s from Mekelle University.

Yabesera Bensu

Project Manager

Yabesera Bensu is born and raised in Ethiopia and holds a bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management and a Master’s degree in Human Resource Management.  Ms. Bensu has worked for Packtra PLC, GAWT International Business PLC, AB Plast PLC to name the least.

At EMG, she holds a Project Manager position where she manages projects for all our international and local partners. Ms. Bensu utilizes her unique ability in overcoming challenges and execute any project with a well-planned road map. Moreover, her quick adapting personality to any working environment gives her a competitive advantage in the project she manages. Since she joined EMG, Ms. Bensu has led, managed and delivered local and international projects.

Professor Tony Magana

Health and Education Adviser

Professor Tony Magana M.D., is a neurosurgeon, neuroscientist and educational expert who has been in Ethiopia since 2012 and is currently based at Mekelle University where he is Head of the Department of Neurosurgery. He graduated with Honors from Texas A&M University then attended Harvard Medical School for medicine and neuroscience. Subsequently he trained in Neurosurgery at the University of Miami.  He has been active in business and medicine for over 35 years. He has not only a long history in medicine and research, but also in consulting to medical industry and governments in development for many years.

In 2019 as a member of EMG consultancy and in partnership with the Kuhne Foundation he developed a Business Verbal Communication course for professional students and business executives based upon principles of business, language study, and relationship development science, with the goal of improving managers’ efficiency and success in business leadership.
